Musa Basjoo Cold Hardy Japanese Fiber Banana Plant

     Musa Basjoo COLD HARDY Banana Plant - Zones 3 and up (-3°F) and with protective mulching it can survive temperatures reaching down to -20°F. Grow this in a container or plant straight into the ground. If grown in the ground, it will produce offsets (babies) by the end of this season or mid next season. It's a wonderful banana species that is fast growing as the rest but more cold tolerant than any besides the Musa Sikkimensis. It gets to heights of 14-18 ft with slender stalk and bright green leaves. Adds that touch of the tropics to any landscape! You can grow this in any state! It does bear edible fruit and is grown as an ornamental plant. As with any banana, it will lose its leaves after a freeze but this one is SURE to grow again when the weather warms up. This one has been reported to even be successfully grown indoors.
