Low growing compared to other known ensete Plants Ensete Superbum (Thai) - Hardy to zone 7-11 - No common name known. No need to take a chance on unviable seeds (many are), we have done the work for you. high mountainous regions of China and Nepal up to 1,100 m and in southern China to 2,700 m above sea level. It grows to 20' and produces a massive base and red flower head with broad leaves outlined in deep red and deep red midrib. These awesome looking plants are still very rare with only a few collectors and large gardens possessing them. They are very cold hardy and if left to a moderate freeze, they always come back the following growing season and start where they left off growing when having a small corm going into the cold.
