Cold Tolerant Palm List
Since more and more people are becoming palm enthusiasts all over the world, more information is being collected about certain palms. Some palms that were once thought to be not so cold tolerant are now being reported to be more adaptable to colder climates. Cold Hardiest Palms
Green Mazari Palm - Cold Hardy to -3 degrees!
Trachycarpus Genus:
Mini Chusan or Waggie Palm - Trachycarpus Wagnerianus
1. Pindo (Butia Capitata) or "Jelly Palm" - Zone 8 - Stands temperatures to 10 degrees F.
2. European Fan Palm (Chamaerops humilis) - Zone 7b - Stands temperatures to 5 degrees.
3. Saw palmetto (Serenoa Repens) Zone 7b - Stands temperatures to 5 degrees
4. Florida Sabal Palm - (Cabbage Palm) Zone 8 - Stands temperatures to 10 degrees
5. Mazari Palm (Nannorrhops Ritchiana) Zone 8 - Stands temperatures to 10 degrees
6. Sabal Minor (dwarf palmetto) Zone 7b - Stands temperatures to 5 degrees
7. Chinese Windmill Palm - (Trachycarpus Fortunei) Zone 8 - Stands temperatures to 10 degrees
8. California fan Palm (Washingtonia Filifera) Zone 8 - Stands temperatures to 10 degrees
9. Washingtonia Robusta - Zone 8 - Stands temperatures to 10 degrees
10. Triangle Palm - (Dypsis decaryii) - Zone 8a - Stands temperatures to 18 degrees before death but leaves will become spotted
11. Canary Island Date Palm (Phoenix Canariensis) - Zone 8 - Stands temperatures to 10-13 degrees with ease!
12. True Edible Date Palm (Phoenix Dactylifera) - Zone 8 - Stands temperatures to 13 Degrees with ease!
13. Senegal Date Palm (Phoenix Reclinata) - Zone 7b-8a - Stands temperatures to 11 sometimes lower depending on area and protection
14. Phoenix humilis - Mountain Date Palm - Zone 7b-8a - Stands temperatures to 11 sometimes lower depending on area and protection
15. Stone Gate Palm (Trachycarpus Princeps) - Zones 7 - 11 - Stands temperatures to 8-10 degrees!

Since I do not know of any palms that will grow below minus 20 degrees, I'll start the chart at Zone 5
