.Musacae - Edible Bananas!

     Musa Dwarf Orinoco Dessert Banana - Zones 7b and up. Cold Hardy, Wind Tolerant! These are another great tasting dessert banana. The ‘Dwarf Orinoco' is a small vigorous plant that is green and has a thick stem (trunk). The trunk can be yellowish as well some leaves have a red outline to the leaves. It is a heavy bearer of thick skinned fruit of very tasteful quality. There is very little curvature to the fruit and the fruit ripens on the plant without splitting. The plant is hardy and withstands cold temperatures and wind, but must be supported when carrying large heads of fruit. They grow to heights of only 5-8 feet tall, now THAT'S a dwarf! Very tropical looking plant addition to your homescape! Excellent Dessert Banana!
