Cold Hardy Red Colored Leafed Banana Tree!
Musa Bordelon - Zone 7 Cold Hardy! Bordelon is the common name. Here we have a little known awesome looking Cold Hardy ornamental musa banana plant. The plants mature out at 14 feet tall and have very beautiful colored leaves! These rival the beauty of Musa Zebrina (the Blood Musa), and have close to the cold tolerance of the Musa Sikkimensis. The fruit is full of seeds and is not edible. I say, that's ok. This is such a beautiful ornamental tropical plant and there are plenty of others that you can eat of the hands. It was first found in Louisiana in the town of Bordelonville. The upper side of the leaves are dark green splotched with deep burgundy and the underside is fully painted in burgundy/maroon color. Put a little Cajun spice in your life!
