     Musa Manzano Apple Banana - Zones 8-up. Cold Hardy and Wind Tolerant! The Apple Banana plant is a superb tasting banana that is not grown commercially, but is normally found in backyard collections. So it is highly unlikely that you will find this one in your grocery store. It has been known for its combination of sweet banana flavor and apple tasting seedless, bottle-neck shaped fruit. The plants grow to heights of 12-14 ft and are mainly green with a red leaf outline. The fruit must be allowed to fully ripen to eat, but yes, eaten fresh off the plant. A very cold hardy tropical that has withstood and earned its place in temperate and sub tropical climates. Add this plant to your collection and share as the fruit ripens! Excellent Dessert Banana!
