Alocasia chaii Plant

Small, Exciting & Interesting Aroid

     Alocasia chaii - Zone 8b - 11 - This interesting small sized alocasia species was recently discovered where most of the rest of them originate in Asia. Its blue grey upper leaf color is striking and soothing at the same time giving a calming effect. Similar growing as the alocasia infernalis, it is slow and needs humidity and warmth, but can be well suited as a patio or indoor house plant. It has lasted over our winters here where we get a few freezing nights. They will die down but do come back. Very unique plant that caught my eye last season. Leaf texture is rugged and thick-ish but also has a rubber feeling. The undersides begin white giving way to a reddish tinted veins. Really does stand out among the rest and has its place among the favorites in any plant collection or container garden. True Collectors plant!
